About
This page is intended to communicate the recent and near-future rainfall conditions and correlate those conditions to flood-producing rainfall.
Quantitative Precipitation (QP) generally refers to specific, measurable amounts of precipitation, in contrast to a general probability of precipitation. The concept is applied in two primary contexts:
Quantitative Precipitation Estimate (QPE) represents estimates of observed precipitation that has already occurred using a variety of techniques, including radar.
Quantitative Precipitation Forecast (QPF) represents forecasted precipitation from numerical models (inches per hour).
Cumulative curves are the running total across hourly values (accumulated inches).
